• Iran’s President Briefs about ISTT Companies’ Achievements in Combat against Covid-19

During a video conference meeting with a number of Iranian science and technology town, Dr. Rouhani, Iran’s President was briefed about the achievements of knowledge-based companies in combat against Corona Virus. Speaking on Monday afternoon in a meeting with managers of science and technology parks, knowledge-based companies through video conferencing, President Hassan Rouhani said, "Further empowerment of the chain of relations between universities, producers and science and technology parks is essential and this will undoubtedly benefit all three sections".

The President also went on to describe meeting the main needs of the country's health and treatment sectors in fighting coronavirus as something that shows the scientific power of the country in reaching self-sufficiency and knowledge-based economy in the country.

He also said that meeting these needs, at the same time with providing the groundwork for exporting many products such as masks and disinfectants, as well as ventilators, are the display of the national devotion of a country.

A report of the Activities of Tenant Companies in Isfahan Science and Technology Town (ISTT) was also preseted to the President by ISTT president, Dr. Jafar Qaisari in this virtual meeting, Dr.Ghaisari stated that more than 30 technology companies settled in ISTT are currently producing products to stop the disease. He named a number of products by these companies including disinfectants, hospital and respiratory equipment, different types of masks such as N95 and 3-layer surgery masks and air purifiers, infrared thermometers, Oxygen tanks for hospitals and a number of online applications for remote working and teaching.

In this video conference the president of Iran, Dr. Hassan Rouhani said: "It is necessary to further strengthen the chain of relations and cooperation between the university, the producer and the science and technology parks, and this process will undoubtedly benefit all three sectors."

The President said the process of income and job creation in the science and technology parks in Iran is very valuable and added; since 1992, the number of science and technology parks in the country has increased by 19% and knowledge-based companies working in science and technology parks earned 800,000 million dollar last year.
